Prospective Expats to Canada can now use an interactive web tool to help work out if they are eligible.
London, UK (Pryce Warner International) August 16th, 2011 – The “Come To Canada” wizard has been designed to offer potential Expats a simple and easy way to determine whether or not they are eligible to enter the country.
It is hoped that the wizard will make it much easier for people to navigate the application process, which at present can be complex.
The service should also reduce Expats reliance on immigration consultants and also make the department of immigration more efficient by reducing calls to their call centre and consultants.
Expats using the wizard will be able to have their application matched with the federal immigration option that best suits their unique circumstances. Potential Expats just fill out a series of questions on their length and nature of visit and the best results will be shown instantly.

As Canada has an ageing population, the Canadian government is taking greater steps to try and increase the amount of immigration in order to help sustain the country’s economic growth.
At present, roughly 250 000 people emigrate to Canada every year, but estimates show that this needs to be around 350 000 in order to counter the effects of an ageing population.
Though the new wizard has been designed to make it easier for Expats to come to Canada, British Expats should still be wary.
Canada is one of many countries around the world that presently freeze the pension rates of UK Expats at the rate they are first drawn, effectively allowing them to devalue with inflation over time.
Many Expats in Canada are currently protesting this and lobbying the British government to change this situation.
David Retikin, Director of Operations at Pryce Warner International Group, a Financial Services Provider for Expats, commented: “It is a great idea to utilise the web to try and make emigrating and finding the right type of visa much easier for potential Expats. Moving abroad to work or retire can often be a highly complex process and any effort by governments to make it easier should be applauded. However, there remains the unfair situation in Canada under which British Expats have their pension rates frozen. The law this is based upon is wholly outdated and needs to be changed immediately in order to ensure that Expats in Canada can enjoy a full and rewarding retirement. Anyone considering a move abroad, especially with a view to retiring in Canada, should speak to independent financial advisors first in order to ensure any avenues they can use to secure their income are explored.”
