The Overseas Absentee Ballot Request is a voting system that has been introduced to enable US expats to vote online, meaning they can still vote in the remaining 2012 primaries.
London, UK (Pryce Warner International) February 15th, 2012 - US expats can now have their say and help shape various issues throughout the US political infrastructure including anything from tax to transport and commerce to copyright.
US expats will have to submit a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) form to comply with the new laws and each US state has to distribute ballots 45 days beforehand, in order to facilitate safe, simple and timely electronic voting via email, fax or download.
The Federal Voting Assistance Programme (FVAP) is in place to safeguard the process; its website gives expats access to a comprehensive voting guide as well as all the required ballot, registration and delivery documentation and relative details.

Rules and deadlines vary from state to state but US expats can submit their votes electronically as illustrated above, or by scanning their original papers which can also be given to any US Embassy or consulate.
Unless they have no intention of returning, expats will have to vote using their homeland addresses and those with no fixed abode can simply use their previous address.
The introduction of this new voting system is expected to attract numerous questions and queries; US expats are advised to be expedient in supplying full contact details along with their voting requests, so any problems can be addressed in good time.
